Never Go Alone - There is safety in numbers, never go out alone.
Always Bring ID - If you are questioned by the police you will need to be able to prove who you are.
Time - The best times to go are between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. these are the psychic hours, where you will experience the most
activity. However anytime can produce results.
Map it - Make sure you know where you’re going before you leave. Many locations have complicated directions and are
difficult to find. You don't want to waste time being lost when you could be investigating.
Contact - It's a good idea to have someone bring a cell phone, so that you can call for help in case of an emergency. Cell
phones should be either turned off or have the ringer shut off during investigations.
Batteries - Make sure all of your equipment is fully charged and that you have extra batteries available. Ghosts have the
ability to drain fully charged instruments.
Respect - Always treat spirits and locations with respect. Never leave behind trash; knock over gravestones or in any other
way disrespect an area. If possible leave the location in better condition than you found it; take a second to pick up some
trash. Many good places are strictly forbidden because people didn't follow these rules while investigating there.
No Horseplay - A serious and conscientious ghost hunter gets results.
Do Not Show Fear - A gracious ghost will not come around if they sense fear, because they wouldn't want to frighten you.
While a mischievous ghost may feed off of your fear, this isn't good
Never Provoke - Never harass or provoke an unseen spirit to show itself, this can have horrific results if an evil spirit
is present. It is okay however to kindly ask a spirit to show itself for a photo or evp recording.
